Biography

Gerrit Johannes van Emmenes was born 17 May 1796 and baptised 11 Oct 1796 at Drakenstein, Cape of Good Hope. He is the child of Gerrit Van Emmenes and Susanna Elisabeth Rossouw.^[1]

He is listed as deceased on his father's death notice file on Nov 1843.^[2] So it is assumed he died before 1843 Cape Colony, South Africa as by around 1844 his widow has a child with Johannes Dewald Droskie.
